tidying up

my workspace can become chaotic to a point that i can't actually get any work done. this morning it felt like this... so i'm going through everything now, lots of throwing away stuff and filing whatever needs to be kept. i know in a few weeks time i'll be having to do it again. it's a rather funny cycle. any tips for keeping the workspace 'workable'?

I think your work space is art work. My tip: jars for everything :) And bowls too!

Yes, I agree with the comment above, I buy little cups and boxes at garage sales- but the truth is that no matter what we do it still gets messy like a storm hit it, when we are under the creative spell!I think its just 'one of those things'....

I don't think you can-it is an inevitable cycle! I love putting everything away and tidying up but when I have a number of things on the go it does get messy! I have got larger items sorted and stored in plastic see through boxes but it is things like pens, books I am using, scissors, camera leads-all small stuff-and all stuff the cat knocks off when she leaps onto the table!
Love the pictures of the jellyfish and coral.

different little boxes is my tip! but it will get chaotic inside them as well ... but you know:

deep clean, slide back into messiness, deep clean... sounds like a workable cycle to me! nice to see your peacock in pencil here - i'm really fond of the little guy...

i completely relate. i tend to send the studio into a complete disaster zone and just when the work table is all but hidden, i reorganize and start again. and i LOVE that little sea creature... a jelly fish i think. love it.

I wish I did. My cycle is... clean up... make work... make mess... drown in clutter... time to clean up again. :)

thanks for all your tips guys! i do have jars and bowls and plant pots, and whatever else.... you name it... the mess is just part of the process, i guess, isn't it? it also feels good to clean up, tidy up and start fresh again :)

the jellyfish is part of the brief i'm doing for amelia's book. bit of a longish process but i'm enjoying it!

cecilia: welcome back, i've missed you!!

livia: me alegra que voce goste da ilustracao ::::)
