how was your weekend? mine was so lovely! husband took me up to the Lake District to see Beatrix Potter's house :) the place is as she left it. so inspiring... unfortunately, it's not allowed to take photographs inside the house.
we stayed in pretty Ambleside and enjoyed nice cream tea, fresh pints at The Golden Rule and tasty black pudding in our breakfast. well, i'll let the pictures do the talk. the gorgeous wallpaper and the little houses were in the b&b; we stayed...

how charming -- and how great it is that you live so close that you were able to make a weekend getaway to it! i love visiting writers' old homes -- my favorites are ernest hemingway's birthplace in chicago and pablo neruda's la chascona in santiago. now i have another must-visit spot to add to the list!
Sounds like a lovely weekend... I hope to one day get to see Beatrix's home. What a lovely and lucky time you have had of it.
