happy journey collective
hello peeps! so here's the project i said i'd be announcing today :) entitled Happy Journey, it consists of an ongoing collection of 'final destination' boxes artworks by the finest illustrators/artists from around the world.
the collective was born out of a twitter interaction between myself, Lesley Barnes and Abi Daker. It all started on a dull rainy evening when my other half came home and asked me to google 'colourful coffins', a road sign he'd spotted on his way back from a driving work trip from Oxford. we were so amused by what we saw that i promptly tweeted the link. what happened afterwards can be seen now at the Happy Journey Collective official site. so much fun!
we're so pleased with how the project has been developing so far and hope you enjoy browsing the beautiful pieces showcased there. don't forget to keep checking it for new added artwork.
+ if you you'd like to get involved, we've set up a flickr group for open submissions. there you'll find the brief + artwork specs. we'll be selecting artworks to feature on the collective website on a regular basis.
hope you enjoy the journey and have a fab weekend too!
update// Amelia's Magazine has an exclusive about the project. read/ see it here

pick me up // contemporary graphic art fair

had a lovely time at the Pick me up : Contemporary Graphic Art Fair // Somerset House. lots of awesome stuff and great eye candy to enjoy. the day was even more pleasant as the sun was shining in London and i was in the best company ever of five ace illustrators: Simon Wild, Kate Slater, Jo Cheung, June Sees and Emma Cowley plus d'lovely Amelia Gregory from Amelia's Magazine. i already knew Jo, June and Emma as we were in uni together and Amelia, of course, a very dear soul and great supporter of my work. so it was fab to meet Simon and Kate in person. they both turned out to be as nice as i'd imagined! see, the power of twitter manifests itself in such positive ways. bringing us all together in real life to enjoy such an inspiring day being one of them. amen to my twitter addiction! :)

hello monday

hello spring, hello hay fever for me! :-(
every year i tend to forget how bad it gets when summer approaches... well, as they say, 'for anything there's a price to pay...'
anyway i'm plodding along finishing off some illustrations for Amelia's Magazine and the image above is a selection of little crops, i'm enjoying the process of how the artwork is coming to life.
thank you so much for the smashing feedback and purchases of my mornings zine :) i'm off to the post office in a minute.
wishing us all a great week hay fever free as i wouldn't wish this thing on the ugliest creature in the world. good times...

a wee zine about mornings

hello peeps! so here it is, the little zine i've been mentioning lately, now available in my shop. it's a limited edition of 25 full colour laser printed low tech books/ 16 pages. this zine is somewhat special to me as it marks the start of what will be an ongoing process of revisiting and editing my moleskines. so there will be others as i plan to make one every other month exploring the diversity of drawings, thoughts and rejects from my sketchbooks. the basis of my work has always come from exploration and experimentation from sketchbooks and i normally end up with a pile on the corner of the workspace. now i feel it's time to bring them to life in the form of zines :) as this ongoing project progresses i will be officially launching Tiny Red Press, a home for low tech zines. exciting!
anyway, have a fab weekend, whatever your plans are. i need some rest :)
