after much procrastination, yesterday afternoon i got round to tidying up my bookshelf as the clutter was getting out of control. only to find that it wasn't my books that was causing the trouble, but my sketchbooks and stuff i collect... despair hits.truth be told, i have far too many moleskines and am still not sure about what to do with them. option 1 :: throw them in the bin.
option 2 :: put them all in a box and chuck them up in the loft. out of sight, out of mind... but is there really a point in this?
i do refer back to them sometimes when i'm out of ideas but i so need to make more space. besides, the sight of clutter also hinders my creative flow. so since last night the question has been: how do you sort a mess like mine?
maybe there's no solution as i know i'll be drawing on more sketchbooks and collecting more eye candy and the mountain will just carry on growing? is there a better way of at least seeing this as...? do you have other solutions that perhaps hasn't crossed my mind?

ok, enough of my blah moaning. hope you're having a good day!
and by the way, that pussy cat in the last photo was found safe and sound :)
oh and i almost forgot to mention, last sunday my work was featured on the lovely inkygoodness
7 notes:
this is a wonderful mess! and quite similar to my studio where I can never find anything....
I have the very same problem with all the things I hoard for future use, be it collage or idea or keepsake. I always opt for the box-it-all-up solution though it does not really work all that well.
Like your mess!
it's all too colorful and beautiful to pack away - i think keeping them on rings in a binder format is a great way to keep them organized and at your fingertips for inspiration. i would not want that sausage of prosperity too far from me!
Sweet Thereza, so many weeks...nice to see that you are still here:)
yeah guys, i still haven't got a solution...
Marie-louise: hope you had a nice holiday! i need one pretty soon. welcome back :)
Everything looks so fantastic
I do something similar: insert pages and cuttings inside top loading sheet protectors that are made to fit inside a 3-ring binder. I also have a file box and I file cuttings, photos and articles into appropriate folders. I haven't found out how to organize my journals though!
